No hurry this morning to leave as it's a short day, so we had a full Irish breakfast of eggs, black pudding, white pudding, fried tomato, bacon, toast, pork sausage ( in fact I think I ate a whole pig) everything is pork in Irish breakfasts
The girls and I decided it wouldn't be right to leave town without first visiting Charlie Chaplin, who came here a lot in his day, and since his passing, it's still a favorite place for his family to visit.
The walk out of town was easy until we got to the spur, up we went through mud again, but not too bad, by the end of today we counted 37 stiles that we had to climb over.

Now, there are only two things in this world, the truth and the untruth. The truth persists, even if you don't believe in it, but unlike truths, untruths exist ONLY because people believe in them.
Once you stop believing in the untruths, they go away. Having said that, no matter what the girls say to you, or print in their Facebook page,
This is the truth
This is the untruth
Actually we have a good laugh all day long, except at Kerri' s jokes. The sun came out and I felt like today was special, I felt special, I am special ( oh shut up you ACIMers, I hear you )
we dropped into the valley after traversing along the side of the spur, overlooking the bay and Ocarrols Cove.
Somewhere in the valley before Catherdaniel, we lost Caroline for awhile, coming around a corner in the heather, Caroline was lying on the path rocking herself to sleep, thats what it looked like anyway, apparently she slipped on a wet stone and fell, and she wasn't rocking herself to sleep, she was trying( in vain) to get back up..
It wasn't but an hours later and we walked into Catherdaniel, a tiny little village with the one hostel.

| local cider to celebrate |
a tiny town with a great ambiance, but a pub with great food
. Only a 3.5 hour hike today, had to celebrate with a lunch time Guinness, and the girls tried cider.
We found our hostel and fell asleep for an hour, took a shower and headed back to the pub for the only Internet in town, and that my excuse anyway.
It's now 4.30 pm on a Friday,I'm waiting for the girls, who will again pick on me at cribbage, have a beer, and I guess this is also the only place to eat dinner.
Tomorrow is 12 miles, pretty steep climbs apparently, but also lots of road walking. This may be an issue, as tomorrow is the " Ride the Ring" event, and they are expecting 10,000 bicycle riders to circumnavigate the Kerry Ring. Everyone is asked to refrain from driving the roads. They say it's even hard to cross the roads as a pedestrian, so this could be a fun day of " dodge em" with 20 lbs on your back. We met them at various points during the day with shouts from the cyclists like"get a bike". seems it cant be much of a race, as most pubs along the way were full of cyckists having a barrel load of fun. Might have to come back next year and ride the 115 mile course.
So, at this point I would like to wish my dearest of friends and part of my family, a wonderful day tomorrow as Ron And Deb Heimler, my neighbors, are renewing their wedding vows.
Love you all, pat
